michigancapri92 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Share Posted February 13, 2011 i only have one battery and it has been moved to the trunk, right now i have battery grounded to the strut tower in the back and a ground in front going from engine to strut tower and another going from transmission to frame, im still not getting the best of electric, voltage drops on 1kwRMS audio but i even get a bouncing gauge with turn signal, was wondering if i am having bad ground ? chewie Posted February 13, 2011 Report Share Posted February 13, 2011 your best bet is drilling through and grounding directly to the frame rail.. its the thickest peice of metal on the car. and it is a straight peice from the front to back.. no spot welds for electricity to have to go through.. ground there up front and in the back. osamio Posted February 13, 2011 Report Share Posted February 13, 2011 Use a DMM to check voltage drop across LARGE parts of the car, For instance, the floor of the trunk should be a fine ground point. Any LARGE area's of metal are most likely part of the main chassis. If you are really worried about it, the rear bench seat will be bolted to the frame, those bolts are probably accesible from the trunk.
