And the problem is is that you have your amp gains at 1/2 with 2-3v pre-out. It shouldn't need to go that high. Rest In Peace mother. fecupe2001 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Pioneer HU´s clips a lot if you are not careful, i´ve been using them for 3 years now and i honestly like them, they sound ok for the price, set the volume no more than 40 out of the 62 , boost at 0, SLA +3 , loudness on high (some people dont like this, for me, it sounds the best this way) and mess around a little bit with the EQ, after this, you go to the amplifier and set the gain... Mine blinks on certain songs and whatever and I never smell coil and my subs get warm at most and still sound clean. I wouldn't freak over it. Set the radio to where you want the listening volume and THEN turn the knob up. My h/u goes to 32 but i listen to it at like 18-24. Just because it can go higher doesn't mean it needs to.
