Bumpin Till The *** Falls Off, Again. (insert Car Part)

Recommended Posts

here we go again with my mirrors falling off...this is #4 for me.....usually it happens when i am driving so fast that it flaps around and comes off the wire but this time i was able to save it. Thanks to groundpounder2k2 i have so much CA glue i have some even at my desk at work (and activator LOL).

a couple tabs are broke this time around, so if it comes off again its another $50 down the drain....

i wouldnt do a flip down unless you want a "flop down" after a few months......face it, after 10k watts you have to be picky on what you put in your ride :D Both front and rear ceiling mounted a/c controls AND the plastic shroud it sits in have both been on the floor many times...i think i got the one by the windshield conquered with lots of CA glue (gel), 1x1 piece of wood, and some strategic screws (hidden). I still havent found a way to have a rear view mirror stay horizontal for more then 1 day though.....and it dont take long for it to become limp-dick from being put back up and fall down 100 times a day :D Then its just worthless.

on the rear view mirror in my truck, the shaft part in the back where it swivels, i put a bead of superglue on it, so it can't swivel anymore, it helped for a while, until i forgot i glued it, and i grabbed it and moved it, and broke the bead, it helped me, but yeah after 10k watts it's not going to help, you mirrors probably just fall off

steve you are the king of glass, ( well you and Tim) why dont you just yank the headliner down and glass that damn control pod holder to the back side of it? lol ok, pain in the ass, but its worth a shot

P.S. we use this stuff here at work called plastic surgery on anything plastic wise in a car that cracks slightly(or breaks) that cant be seen, it works great, a hell of alot better than any other superglue we have ever found
