DreDay256
Hey guys. I'm hooking up my Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD & I have in wired in but now I'm to the video bypass part. I see online that people are saying a relay is required. This is the 1st head unit I've seen where I have to use a relay to bypass the video safety crap. Usually i just wire to a hot or ground accordingly. Anyone have any experience w/ this or is the relay actually nessecary? THANKS DUDES! CW06Silvy
Ordered the relay today off ebay for like $5.00 shipped. Just searched for "12v relay 4 pin". you could have just bought a $3 switch from like advanced auto and looked at the wiring diagram. All you have to do is wire the parking brake switch wire to the other black wire.. works like a dream.. did it on mine, just flick switch off and on 2x and ur set Quote 2006 Silverado Ext. skittlesRgood
Your going to have to use a relay. The grounding trick doesn't work for Pioneers. not all pioneers. the avics can just be connected to the ground. the 4200 does something special that you have to work around.
