oppinions on this budget midbass 8" driver

Recommended Posts

you should have your "bass" knob half way up, to where its the MAXIMUM your subs can take, turn it back down to zero, and just bump it there, keep in mind thats a gain knob, not a "bass knob" and going full on it WILL lead to clipping.

but yeah, that 8" i linked is a beast, i'd say it can hang with a sundown E8v.2 no peroblemo.

im taking out my passenger seat, battery is disconnected, going to unwire and take out the three amps, take out the 70+ lb box, then the platform so i can crimp 1 wire.

Almost as bad as those fegs that put those horns in their grills and roll down the street distorting the block....

well mine is a Rockford Punch eq so it doesn't control the gain, i play with the knob up full and i get no clipping whats so ever, still need to adjust the gain a little better i don't think i can send more signals to sub before clipping

I wont lead to clipping especially if you tune it like your supposed to, with the knob all the way up. That way you have NO WAY of clipping with your knob all the way up or all the way down. Thats the smart way to do it

thanks the plan is to also have some ok bass if the subwoofers were off lke still get the 45+ range because my gf gets really pissy she does not like bass one bit :-(

Tell me about it. haha

I have the same problem with my wife ! Plus i have to transport my kids to school so i have to keep the bass down when they are in the car ! I am using the Kicker comp 8's in my door pods and just running them on my amp full range , not x'd-over , and man they sound incredible in a small sealed enclosure as mids !! Plenty of bass without my subs and really good frequency span for the mids !! Dont know if you are using an enclosure or not but these sound great in one !! Good luck !! Second the Kickers are 100 bucks for the pair so . . . . .

P.s. The Daytons and the Tang Bands are both great speaker manufacturer's , i own speakers from both companies and love them !!

i believe he was getting at the point that if halfway is 'full blast' and his gf goes and turns it down, there's still going to be some bump in there regardless of what she can do
