Me too. I have been brainstorming on how to accomplish it. The only way would be to do an almost all fiberglass bottom to the wall and attach a frame to that. The bottom row would be closer to the floor. Maybe 6" up from it. I don't think a flat wall will be possible but It would be much easier to construct from a build and design standpoint.I have 54+" of width. More if I build out to where the rear door panels were. I am going to build into the trunk for a few more cubes so minus a couple funky transitions I should have at least 26 cubes. With the poly and egg crate I should be able to play in the twenties with little to no difficulty

Holy hell man! Do it! Do it! Do it! That is going to be intense as hell man. get a 2.5k or a DD m2b for the 6 18's. If 3 handled the onyx1500 I think the 6 could take 2400 watts easily. That would be such a intense build. I put my money down it does hairtricks. You should make a 4th order clamshell looool.

That was my thoughts as well. Wire the six of them in series parallel to a final 2 ohms. Since the enclosure will be a little on the small side I should have some better power handling. I think any amp that does 2-2.5k at 2 ohms will be enough. Not sure about the hairtricks but it will have the cone area. Just need the power. It's too bad it is probably going to take six months to build the damn thing. haha

I understand the months of saving as well cause I have to work with a budget as well due to school and stuff, but long periods of time allows you to do work better.

I really can't wait to see how this turns out whether it's 4 18's ported or somehow, some way, 6 18's sealed.

I started on the wall today. I ended up keeping the platform. I really wanted to do the 6 18" but there was just going to be many compromises I just didn't want to live with. hahaha. It was a beautiful dream though. The new wall will have the port on the drivers side and will be tuned to 25hz. Two reasons. I will be using a 12" midbass, and I would like to minimize the 50hz peak these subs have. It will still be there just less pronounced. Looks like a 150 might be possible but not much past that. I may not gain at all. Should be musical as F$%k though and move some air. Having the port on the drivers side should help.

Here is the only picture I took today but there is a vid to go with it that has a little more work finished.

The gaps have been filled with modeling clay and will be covered with 3 layers of res and chop matte. I will take a few more pics and another vid update of whatever I get accomplished tomorrow. I will get more supplies on Monday and will try to finish building it by next weekend. May be a bit before I get the 4th sub though.

If you're going for numbers driver side, but if you're going for musical and ear rapage, i'd do a top / center port. That is just me though. I've heard some loud shit with drivers port, and top port, middle port, etc. But i like my top over my side port.

I think center port would be more visually appealing, but 4 18's is alot to fit in that area, so I think driver side port should be fine. At the tuning of 25hz, should be musical, and kill the lows as well, and hopefully you can get a flatter response to get rid of the 50 hz peak you always mention.

I always can tell you always put a lot of thought, and heart into this build, and do a lot of hard work. With your use of budget equipment, not having a big budget, driving an old car too like me with problems at time, you've made the absolute best that you can do with what you have, and you don't ever give up, no matter what obstacle appear, you keep on going. You inspire me sometimes ScottishBear. I really wish I could hear it in person when you're done, but take as much time as you need to do all this cause I know in the end, it's gonna turn out great. Hope you get your 150 as well.

I never thought of doing a top port. I have been chasing a 50 for a minute now but don't want to sacrifice the musicality of the wall. If that's even a word. lol That is something I never considered before. A baffle with the subs staggered might be stronger too.

Thx man I appreciate that. I am pretty humble but it's not by circumstance it's just me. I have put a lot of thought into and have made a bunch of mistakes along the way but being strapped to a fixed budget makes you real good at problem solving.lol I might be able to get it done by next Friday but will still be a sub short till next month. I am looking forward to getting it done and starting on some new door panels and the kicks. I will be going down to SBN next year so you might be able to hear it then.

I will be looking forward to your progress, and I'm going to SBN 2013, 2012 was epic, so I can only imagine 2013. Hopefully I can get some work done myself so you can hear my setup as well, though looking forward to have the chance to hear your setup.

Another day, a little more progress. I really wanted to utilize the acrylic that I bought a few months ago. So when I installed the side pieces which I had made previously I mapped them out and did some cutting with the jigsaw. The side baffles are a little short so I built a couple trim pieces which Hug the rear wells filling the gap but haven't put them in yet. Here are a couple pictures.

It isn't level with the door panel as the wall has a slight slant at the top but the rear windows are going to be plastidipped so it is really no big deal. It will only be open when Showing off. lol Here is the acrylic I am using.

When I cut the holes in the side baffles I made a small build out piece (shown above); that will be covered in more modeling clay and glass and the whole thing will be covered in black carpet. I have some allen head bolts and T-nuts I will be using to attach the acrylic and plan on using silver washers to make it stand out a little more. Here is a video with more detail.

I hope to have another few small updates before Monday when I can finally finish it. Still lot's more to do though.
