jrot Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 i just recieved my sundown sa8 and im already making good progress on the box...i think ill have this thing in by the end of the week but i have a few questions and i cant find any info online and the speaker did not come with an owners manual... 1. what size does the circle in the box for the sub need to be? i found this once but cant seem to now... 2. is there any kind of break in procedure that needs to be followed...im not in the market to replace this because i was being an idiot or something if any one know that would be really great thanks in advance....

bumonskateboard6 Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Break in is up to the user...some people like to break them in, personally I just run it at full power and just don't turn it up loud for the first 12 hours of listening to it to allow everything to loosen up a little bit. jrot Posted March 8, 2011 Author Report Posted March 8, 2011 cool...thats what i needed...so really just common sense...take it easy for a while...maybe turn it up gradually over a couple weeks as i get used to the sound of it? i havent had a sub in quite a long time so it will probly sound pretty loud even at low gain for a while anyway...my rear speakers wont go in for a couple weeks anyway so it should be good and ready to go by the time i get everything in and together...thanx guys.

I've been thinking of doing a single 8 setup that would be nice and small, but many people are saying that a 10 or two its would be way better. Buttttt im a fan of something small... Sweet man! DannyV18 Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 This "can't run it at full tilt because it's not broken in" thing is a complete myth. It's perfectly safe to run full power to it right away. The break-in period just refers to the time that it takes the suspension to loosen up.

I've NEVER broken in a sub and have yet to have any problems whatsoever. Just hook her up and enjoy her man! Sweet man! well man here you go...supra single 8" should be done in the next week or so...ill have pics of the sub and whatnot soon...gotta finish up the box thursday and then mount the amp to it hopefully and then im dont with the front and the back then just waiting on the middle @danny and glo...thanx for the info ill give it a shot then...ill be gradual somewhat anyway but ide like to give it the beans since getting at the tuning knobs on the amp will be tough once its in....
