may03LT Posted March 12, 2011 Report Share Posted March 12, 2011 My TB is recommended for 5w-30 but I've heard some pros say to go with 10w-40 because my truck has almost 115k miles on it. cal Posted March 12, 2011 Report Share Posted March 12, 2011 bottom line use whatever you want its all personal preference on brand names basicly if you use royal or castrol whatever you like as long as its done on or before 3000 miles on normal oil. ive never used any additives or known any body hurt the motor from not using them. the same thing with oil filters fram makes 3 different kinds reg tg and something else. basicly do you really need the best does your car benefit from it?
