Most recently at my job edys ice-cream was on sale 2 for 1... People were tearing it up.. Funnything is the prices were marked up so they were really only saving like 50 cents instead of 5.xx or w.e it was. Just gotta check your shit. I would never do some underhanded shit like that. Yeah, i do agree it is just as much the consumer's fault as it is the seller's. A buyer should always know prices of items when buying them. But still, for people to mark up a sub $50.oo, then blatently lie and it costs another $20.oo at a retail store is bullshit. Its fucking crooked, and straight up lying. Its an opportunistic cost. The consumer feels that if they don't buy SOMETHING at this liquidation sale that they already paid to get into, that they are missing out on some great deal. jconnway Posted March 21, 2011 Report Share Posted March 21, 2011 this is really just a case of false advertising. regardless, uneducated consumers will always jump at the chance to "save money" on a "sale". my local audio shops do this kinda thing all the time - bump up prices 50 or 60 percent and then put on some sale... where you really are only saving a few dollars over the original price. its bullshit and unethical but its business and theres no shortage of fools with money willing to buy. Imagine how many people walked out of that liquidation sale feeling like they made a fantastic deal.
