Running a 12v power wire from my amp to my battery in my 02 ford focus zx3 is a pain in the ass because i have yet to find a suitable gate through the fire wall for the power wire to run through and i figured this was the best place to go to find out something i dont know so any answers are good ones short of drilling into the firewall really dont want to do that so let me know. Though, what I can say is to just get up underneath the dash with a flashlight and look for ANY wires running through the firewall and into the engine bay. If you can find a grommet, then you can fit a run of 1/0 through. Have someone stand over then engine bay when you begin to push it through to grab it with whatever tool you may need and pull. Autruche Posted March 25, 2011 Report Posted March 25, 2011 If you can't find a hole in the firewall, look at the sides of the under-dash area. Like where the door hinges are. Sometimes you can get a wire through the rubber boot that has the wires that go to the door. Just cut a small hole in the BOTTOM of the tube part that hangs between the door and car and pull the wire through the grommet side in the car, and though the hole. then run it up through the fender. It is not the best way to run the wire, but it works if you can't find a hole to run it though in the firewall and you don't want to drill though your car. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? If you can't find a place just use a step drill bit and make a hole in the firewall and pick up a 25 cent snap bushing for it so the wire doesnt get damaged on sharp edges. The hardest part is finding a place where the drill will fit in.
