It's not working out

So I work at a factory about half hour away from where I live, and was hired on for there through a temp agency about 5-6 months ago. I went to work today like any other day, and clocked in like normal. Apparently monday the temp agency had sent them an email saying that my subscription had been terminated. Now I'm not the best worker in the world, but I'm a pretty damn good one. I've only called in one time because I was sicker than you could believe, although I have been late a few more times than I'd like to admit. By late I mean by one minute because I have to walk through the guard shack and to the very back part of the factory.

As I said, I'm not the best worker there, but let's talk about some temps who have gotten hired on. Ones name is dillon. He started just about the same time as me and got hired on two months ago. Before he got hired on he was late almost every other day and missed 10 days while still working at the temp agency. The next ones name is Tim, and this guy has a temper. He got pissed one day and threw an air gun across the room and broke the handle in half. Were talking a $1000 air hammer. Hes been caught numerous other times beating on the equipment and other machines. This was all before he got hired on and out manager knew all about it. Not to mention when he was told to get off his phone at one point he straight told his superior no.

So all I know is I was working, and the only problem with me was being late a few times, and today I have a guard come escort me out like a fugitive saying I wasn't supposed to be working in that department. Go to the guard shack to be told that they got an email from the temp agency saying my subscription had been canceled and that I was basically out on my ass.

Im sitting in front of the temp agency and not sure if I should walk in because I might blow up on someone. Im mostly just venting here so I don't, but what do you think you'd do in this situation? Any suggestions or advanced 'wisdom' you can lay on me? I've never been fired before and need to be able to pay my bills...

Let me just say from a standpoint.... Blowing up will not solve anything bro... I would go into the office and ask to speak with someone and try to find out why you were let go and not formally notified...Then if the reason sounds like its wrong then state your case

^ that. If shit doesnt work out a job is better then none so apply everywhere! INCLUDING MCDONALDS. May sound like a shitty place to work but it gives you a chance to find a better job while you still are getting a pay check.

Shit, do what I do, deliver pizza, sounds like a asstastic job but hell I average 20-35$ a hour dependant on tips, plus you get to drive around all day, beat up the block and smoke cigs whenever you want, whos complaining on that.

Let me just say from a standpoint.... Blowing up will not solve anything bro... I would go into the office and ask to speak with someone and try to find out why you were let go and not formally notified...Then if the reason sounds like its wrong then state your case

x2, or if its a good reason, like you being late a number of times, do what you can to improve that. and being late is a big deal to a lot of bosses. I always walk in the door 5-10 min early for a shift.

Whether it s a good reason or not, they don't have to tell you. No offense, but we've only heard your side of it as well, and the story could be "colored". The fact that you bring up often being late and not the best worker doesn't help your case- is there anything you aren't saying?

I doubt it's personal, or really targeted- most likely they're trying to trim expenses etc and you're the one. Don't finger point at Dillon or any other temps. Man up, make a job out of looking for a job and find yourself something even better. Use your anger to fuel you and find something you enjoy that pays better just to spite them!

I feel bad reading this because I just had to do the same thing to 2 of my own team, but not taking accountability is never going to help you. I'm not saying anything is your fault, but it's done so move on and move up!

I feel ya man i was just notified i'm getting hired into where i was working at for the last 10 months as a temp worker for not much more then minimum wage. I have seen temps come and go for various reason, personally i would go to where you were working and fill an app out to try and get hired along with going into the temp place and asking for a new location for work. The worst case scenario is nothing or a no for an answer.

Audio1der, I said I'm not the best worker in the world, but who can say they are? I meant that I know I'm not the hardest worker they've ever had, but I still work hard and get twice the shit that some guys do there. I just didn't want to sound like I am the best ever, which I'm not.

As I said this post was to kinda help me vent before I went and talked to the boss at the temp agency. As for being late, I did admit that was a problem, but a minor one. Over the course of the job, the last six months, I've probably been late 5-6 times, a couple times excused reasons, the others being at the most clocking in 2 minutes late. While it is minor IMO, i know it's still a problem and have been working to fix it.

Now, onto the rest of the story after the fact. Went into te temp agency, and explained the situation to the manager. He knew nothing about it...he called the person who deals with hiring at the factory and she knew nothing about it. So they checked it out a bit longer and basically said they need be back. What they think happened is another nick works at another part of the factory with the temp agency and got fired. They saw that I clocked in today and apparently thought I was the other guy. So basically I got 'fired' and rehired today.

Sorry for a wall of text...novels FTL. I'll make a new post to explain the rest.
