I have 2 15" kicker cvx's, dual 4 ohm. I only have a kole audio kx1-4000d running them right now. I was told the kicker zx2500.1 would run great. But I looked up the specs on that amp and it says 2500 watts at 2 ohms, so I'm guessing the amp isn't 1 ohm stable. Anything else out there that would fit pretty good?

hmmmmm i just did an install on 3 cvx's. im not a fan of kicker but im very familiar with thier products. I would go withhhh

Rockford T1000-1bdcp

Hifonics BXi1610D or BRZ1200.1D

American bass 80.1 or 100.1

Rockford is a must have basically though...

1999 Monte Carlo

Sony CDX-GT34w

2 Alpine Type R 12"s in 4 cubes tuned to 35hz

American Bass VFL 80.1 amp @ 1 ohm (probably doing between 1000 and 1300rms)

Stock alt, Stock batt, Big 3 Upgrade

Boston s55- 5 1/4s (doors)

Boston s95- 6x9s (rear deck)

I was looking at getting 1 bigger amp instead of 1 for each sub. Know of anything bigger?

bro you wouldnt want anything bigger than that. i think you basing what you want on MAX wattage. Always match the RMS of the subs with the RMS of the amp.

for example:

two cvx's is a combined wattage of 1200 watts rms. the Rockford t1000-1bdcp is UNDERRATED at 1000 watts rms at 2 ohms. its 1 ohm stable also, meaning you'd probably be putting about 1400 watts rms of clean rockford power into those subs.

You could check in to the Audioque AQ2200D or AQ1200D. As well as the 16-MC1.1500 - Memphis 1500 x 1 Class D Amplifier. There are many good options out there it depends on how much are you looking to spend and how good is your cars electrical. Sundown makes a fine 1500w as well as DC's 2k. The Rockford is a great choice. I run Zapco but they do not have any 1ohm stable in that application.

My electrical isn't very good right now, only a red top battery and a 130 amp alternator. I did order a 250 amp alternator and I'm doing the big 3 here soon. I just wanted to get everything here and do it all at once so I'm not doing a little here and there. I do notice a little bit of headlight dimming with the kx1-4000d, but I don't think it's pushing anywhere near the 2200rms at 1 ohm that they advertise. I think it might be pushing 1200.
