TeamHT Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 because someone was wired lowering than the amp was stable and was relying on rise to put him in the safe zone. i see it as part of a growing trend. many people are not buying the right power, or just trying to be cool wiring to .5 ohm. truth is, many amps are saved on a daily basis due to rise. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

What happened in the case i am thinking of basically the box had almost no rise, which caused the amp to give the sub a ton of power which strained the electrical beyond anyones expectation. His thinking was "i'll do this setup and prolly get a ton of box rise so i should have good enough electrical" i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P. As being wired at .7 on a 1 ohm stable amp i dont agree with the trend. i also dont reccomend relying on rise to save yourself. its going to depend on many factors, one of the most important being the user. so, do so at your own risk.
