As for the powder coat you can now get mechman to color your alt for a fee and it will still be cheaper. Color doesn't give you DB'z lol. As for the idle difference DC wins there but with a solid electrical and a decent battery setup you will be fine with mechman. Does the mechman unit for your car come with a AVBM? if it does that is another plus. In the end get what makes you happy.
