How much can 4 DC lvl 5 10's handle?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering why you are doing 4 lvl 5 10s. If I was going to add that much weight I would want to do a little bigger. just the motors are going to be almost 300 extra pounds. Be prepared for serious rear end sag in the civic

Yeah I have figured in the sag. Got my eye on a pair of air shocks with heavy duty springs. I dont have room for bigger subs really. Can't do 15's or 18's in a Civic unless I want to wall it but I have a baby seat that needs to stay in there. I think Im gonna go with the 2 5500s for the final system. I can buy one of the 5500s and then 2 of the 10's. Then buy another 5500 and the other 2 10's later. I should plan on supplying current for around 13,000 watts to be safe. I think 5 HC2400s should suffice what do you guys think?

With the box, batteries, amps, and subwoffers Im figuring in safely for 750 extra pounds in the trunk. The car will run like dogshit but I dont drive it fast anyways. Gas mileage will eat shit more also but oh well. I gotta have my toys!

Well.....

Realistically they can take 2500-3k comfortably for extended periods of time. They like small boxes. 1.8 is too big. With a single 3500 watt amp I'd put them in 1.2 cu after displacement.

4 of these in your trunk + batts + amps = more than you can fit in your trunk. I have a fairly large trunk and I couldnt fit that in it lol

Hopin to have not much voltage drop with 5 HC2400s and a 350 amp alternator. Might do 5 HC2400's because my mids and highs amp is 1000 watts and I might end up doing 2 of those eventually.

If you have 14kw or more you are gonna need more battery power than 5 kinetik 2400s, especially if you can only fit a single alt. I would think somewhere in the range of 8 D3100s would keep your voltage respectable. I would go with XS power over kinetik all day also. You will get much better performance out of the XS plus your resale value on the XS will be higher.

Hey it's the man himself thorshammer! Thanks for the reply mane! I do have to say part of my motivation for my setup is from watchin your youtube videos. I'm a huge fan of Crescendo amps though is why Im going with them. The trunk in my civic is actually pretty big. If I do a box like you say 1.2 cubes I could fit that in and still have some room left for batteries which I could put some mdf over to mount my amps. I wish I was good at drawing or something but I think it could work. Thanks again for takin the time to read my thread!
