08tahoe Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 what amp would you guys recommend for 2 12inch w7's. i just have them sitting in my room but when i save up some money i need a new amp for them. they are 3 ohms each so i was planing on wiring them in parallel to get a 1.5 ohm load

If money isnt a big deal you could always get the 1000/1's thanks, i just looked at the aq2200 but the bad thing is that i cant wire the subs down to 1ohm and i wanted at least 1000 to each. and the 1000/1 is nice but id need 2 and thatd be a grip of money. at first i was thinking i wanted a jl hd1200/1 to each sub but it never came out. and now that i found this site i wish i wouldve not got the w7's and bought something better (underground) like what other people are running here.

TeamHT Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 no need for an AQ3500 on those w7s. an AQ2200 would be a good fit. i would invest in upgrading the electrical but the amp is slightly underrated. even at a nominal 1.5 ohms you should get more than close to 1000 watts per woofer. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
