im wondering if there is a diesel engine that can rather easily be swaped into a 97 ram im looking to run it off biodiesel

I picked up an MTX Sw1212 powered subwoofer today. This thing sounds amazing. 130 watts, 12" woofer with a passive 12" woofer tuned to 27 hz. Moving the pictures on the walls and my girl got wet from the bass when i showed her haha. Tonight should be good haha.

The Cummins....built like a tank.

Check a diesel site or forum, they'll have more thorough info on it.

im just trying to figure out what the differnces are frame tranny and engine mount wise between a 97 gas and 97 diesal 4x4 that way i can get an idea of if i could get away with just a drop out engine swap with harness and comp

I believe the frame rails are the same between the gas and diesel versions of that body style dodge. If I was still living in my old neighborhood I could tell you for sure since I have a buddy with a 97 v10 2500, and another with a 97 cummins, both 4x4. I can see if I can call him up ask if he could check it out and see if they are the same.

formerly known as Blue86f150

its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies.

Regardless if they were dipped platinum and were stuffed in Beyonce's twat.....way too fucking exspensive

this sux camel dicks

while this is possible, it isnt practical. if you swap engines from gas to diesel, there is quite a bit to do electronically. im talking full computer swap, which is a pain in the ass. im not sure exactly what computers the 97 rams use, but i do know they have to at least have a pcm. if you can get that with the engine, then you might be able to get away with swapping them, if it comes down to the point where you would have to start replacing harnesses i would just forget it. if the 97 ram uses a bcm, airbag computer, abs computer, etc etc. you will have some serious problems getting the new pcm to integrate with them, it is all a matter of security, after you have spent all the time, money, energy, sweat, and blood, it is probably best to just try to sell your 97 and buy one with a diesel. as for mounting everything up, it should just bolt up fine. up to you tho.

ok. dont listen to any of these guys... first off go to the diesel dodge forum.

the entire trucks are 100% the same, frame, suspension, front end, bed, cab, everything other than the coil springs. this is for 2500's because there is no 1500 diesel. so do not swap a diesel into a 1500 unless you replace the whole front suspension. the trans will mount fine. manual or auto. my buddy did a manual trans swap on his 95 cummins and it worked perfect. plus.... those older cummins are all mechanical. no wiring harness or computer. you obviously have wiring to do but no computer wiring. but please go to one of those other forums. this is not where you should get your info from. good luck
