You do realize that the sub wont see those 870wrms, right? If the gain is set correctly and the box isnt gigantic, then yes...it should be able to handle the power.

well with the AQ there is a clip light right? so would it be absolutely necessary to use an o scope?

yes it does have a clip light

its not necessary but its better peice of mind (to me) to know that its scoped

I use my clipping light for my DC2k because no one around has an Oscope.

What I do is run a 50hz tone at the volume I normally listen to, and with the bass knob next to me I slowly adjust the gain until it is right at the point where the clip light is steady red, then I adjust it very slightly until it is off.

Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks :)

Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

It also helps to know the right amplitude of a tone to use. When I tune a setup I use between 0dB and -4.6dB depending on how much the subs are being over powered. When it comes to dealing with amps with a clip light, I usually just turn the gain down a hair more than just when the light goes back off, just to be safe.
