i was wondering how the following things work on component speaker systems.

1. how many ohms do they read and how would you go about wiring them.

2. do you set your amp to full range instead of low pass or high pass.

3. whats the difference between active and passive crossovers.

4. how would a 2 way component be better than a regular 2 way speaker

Dude really. Google. You ask so many easy topics that no one wants to touch.

well next time ill ask how to run a 1000 watt amp on a quad or something really difficult. sorry for being a noob and never having even seen a component system before let alone have one to mess with. i typically don't like google because i find it harder to understand than reading what someone who knows what they are talking about posts.

3. whats the difference between active and passive crossovers.

4. how would a 2 way component be better than a regular 2 way speaker

1. There is usually an ohm rating for the set. Wiring them totally depends on the crossover provided but usually is a single input and 2 outputs (one for mid and one for tweeter)

2. Usually set the amp for high pass, but some component sets have their own high pass filter and you can use full range from your amp

3. Active vs. passive crossovers (or active vs. anything) simply means powered vs. unpowered.

4. It is common for component sets to use higher quality parts than regular 2-way speakers, though this is not always true. One of the biggest advantages to components is the ability to mount the tweeter anywhere you like. This is very helpful when dealing with phasing and time alignment issues.

Components can be a 4 or 2 ohm set. In a passive setup the signal from an amplifier goes to a crossover then to a midbass and a tweeter. In an active setup the signal is crossed over before reaching the amplifier and a separate amplifier or channel is used to amplify the tweeter and midbass individually. Most A/B class amps have a switch that says LP/HP/Full. 2 way components are better than a 2 way speakers because they have a better crossover network than one typically built into a speaker, and the separate positioning of the tweeter and midbass helps with imaging.

i pulled out my dick in class many of times and had it shown. get over it bitch...stupid open legged hairy beavered bitch...

going over rms = smaller box, under rms = bigger box...

Low voltage doesn't blow amps. That's a myth.

A router that does the sub holes makes rounded edges also?

thanks for the detailed descriptions. i knew about the crossovers i just wasn't sure about how they would ohm because i figured it would be a 4 ohm mid-bass driver and a 4 ohm tweeter on the same channel so i wasn't sure how it was wired.
