ambrizd528 Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 ok so i suggested to my cousin to install a 5 channel amp for his 07 titan, so he doesnt have to run 2 sets of power wire just 1. a different cousin that used to work a stereo shop says that the 5 channel amps are no good because the sub channel draws all of most of the power and the mids and highs gets whatever is left over(i dont remember ever seeing a 5 channel amp at that store). now with a 5 channel luis, with the titan is not trying to win comps for loudest system or anything he just wants a complete system so say kicker 700.5 that does 70x4 and 400x1 for subs is more than enough, is the sub channel going to draw so much power that the mids and highs channels bearly get any power, or is this just stupid noob stuff and the stereo store is just trying to make more money because they dont sell 5 channel amps, or they can get more money out of selling and installing 2 amps over 1 2004 Escalade Ext Pioneer avh8400 Kicker ix500.4 Kicker ix1000.1 Kicker hyperflex 0+4 awg Sundown X-15 Sundown Sa-6.5c x2 KnuKonceptz 4 channel Rca Rockford Fosgate 2 channel Rca SkyHighCarAudio 14awg speaker wire Build Log

Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it.
