Monergist
Can't make up my mind; your dialogue will be much appreciated. Alpine Pros: 1. I've only used Alpine head units since I was 16. 2. I like the choice between a 5 band parametric EQ or 7 band graphic (I prefer parametric). 3. I've always had a single din, so a double din would be something new/different. 4. The number scale seems normal to me (volume, for example, 0-35. or subwoofer level 0-15, etc.) Double din screens look cool and contemporary. It would make my dash looks more up to date. Alpine Cons: 1. 2v preouts 2. High profile display; it's just out there for everyone to see.. 3. I'd have to build or buy a new kit to fit it. 4. I'd have to buy a new bezel for my car since I cut my current one to fit a custom kit.. Overpriced; just because it's Alpine.. (I'd only get the head unit and nothing else (see Pioneer pro #3)) Pioneer Pros: 1. 4v preouts 2. Single din (could simply keep my current set-up/kit) 3. Low profile (can't really tell what it is when it's off, plus you can remove the faceplate) 4. Cheaper than the Alpine and has the same features, and more (did I mention 4v preouts?). If I get this unit, I might also be able to get an XS-Power D3100 with the left over dough. Pioneer Cons: 1. The motorized flip out screen is kinda cheesy and old school to me (no offense to anyone who has it). My friend was showing me his Alpine flip out the other day (in a '08 EXT), and all I could think of was how outdated it made his dash look. 2. Only has a graphic EQ (a good one, though. but I still prefer parametric) 3. I've never owned one before. 4. Weird number scale (I notice that some of my friends do dumb things like show me their settings and say, "and it's on negative 18.." But it's like, dude, Pioneer just uses a dumb number scale. Negative 18 is the same as 0 on an Alpine..) 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Pioneer AVH-P5200BT Hertz Mille MLK-165 Component System Hertz Hi Energy HCX-165, 6.5 Hertz Hi Energy HCX-690 (6x9s) Audison Voce AV K6 Component System Audison VRX 4.300 Audison VRX 2.250 Sundown 4500D SMD 15" XS Power D3400 (under hood) Three XS Power D3100 (trunk) Monster XLN-201 RCAs DC Power Engineering 390XP H/O Alternator
__d_a_v_i_d__
Don't think is a fair comparison . If you would compare double din vs double din. I would go with pioneer. And I would get a regular single din, Rather than a flip out... To me it's flip out < single din < double din < carputer. That's on looks tho... Not on functioning and all.. Just never liked flip outs. . That being said the avh 4300 is good and cheaper than the 6300 flip out ... kingsuv
My vote is on the alpine, However I would wait a month and get the new IVA-w910 It's an upgraded version of the 900. It will have 4v outs even though for most amps now 2v is plenty Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out. not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
