I built a box for my brother in law, that actually got louder the closer you moved it to his trunk lid. Shit the subs were almost hitting the truck with how close they were.

I don't have a high power system by any means but, the closer to the backseat I push my box, the louder it got. If I move it closer towards the trunk lid the less impact it had. You just have to find your sweet spot, move it around and find what best works for you.
