I have about $200 to spend total right now, and I'm looking to upgrade a little. I have one RE Audio SRX12D2 wired to 1 ohm on my US Amps XT1000D, It's seeing about 550 watts give or take a few. I can get another sub of the same for $80, which is a hell of a deal being that just one of them handles 500 watts daily never getting warm; they're 300Watts RMS. My main question that is stopping me right now from just ordering another sub and building another box for the both of them is that both of the subs would be DVC2ohm and the only way I know how to wire it would give me a 2 ohm load or a 8 ohm load. My amp is stable only down to 1ohm, and at 2 ohm it only puts out a measly 150watts. Is there ANY way possible to wire both of them together to present a 1 ohm load to the amp? Supercharged DCs Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 You cannot get a 1ohm load with (2) DVC 2ohm subwoofers. You can however, get a .5ohm load, 2ohm load, or 8ohm load. Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

So what do you suggest I do? Should I just keep what I have for now and upgrade later when I have more money? I highly doubt my amp would like .5 ohm. I'm seriously considering buying the audiopipe posted above for $110, but I just came across an Audiopipe AP1800 on CACO for $130 + shipping with just one mounting foot broken. I would wire my one sub to 4 ohm for then, and then set gains accordingly until I sell my current amp which I got for $70, and then purchase another sub along with building a new box. Would that work? I would also have to upgrade my power wire as I currently only have 6 gauge wire, and I'm not even too sure it's true 6 gauge. First System 2002 Impala LS 3.8L V6, 128,365k miles. billy101 Posted June 3, 2011 Author Report Posted June 3, 2011 Alright, so I went ahead and purchased that Audiopipe APSM-1300 only to get it in the mail today, hook it up and have an issue with it. I'm apparently not the only one with this problem. It plays fine and great until it goes to hit the low notes..it will play the low frequency, and then freak the sub out. It doesn't bottom out or anything but it like pushes the sub cone forward and it stops the bass until the low note stops. Here's a thread on Realm of Excursion's forum with a guy who has the same issue. http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/subwoofers/71776-wiring-2-4ohm-dvc-subs-seting-amp-2.html I'll probably be returning it claiming it defective, getting a full refund from Amazon.com. Wondering what amp I should try next? I need something that will push 2 RE Audio SRX12D2's well. They are 300rms each, I want something to push them both at 350-400rms each @ 2ohm, if possible. So, something around 700-800 rms @ 2ohm. Trying to keep it under $175 shipped if possible, still going to need to purchase the other sub, and build a new box. Thanks for help in advance.
