brabus42
Hello, I'd like to start by saying what I've already purchased isn't going back so if it sucks that's my loss. No need to tell me it sucks or I should have got something else. What I'm asking the groups advice is specific to the sub and amp which I haven't purchased. I have a 2007 Crown Victoria which I use to commute. It's the P71 model. I just purchased the following: Pioneer FH-P8000BT - Stereo Pioneer TS-A6872R 6-Inch X 8-Inch 3-Way 240-Watt Speakers - Front and Rear speaker replacements I'm looking for an inexpensive sub/amp combo that will provide low end base for rap as well as be a good mix for rock, techno, and hip hop. I'd like to stay under $300 for both if possible. I'm not interested in how many db it plays just looking for something clean that will sound good inside with a variety of music from Cold Play to Jay-Z. Where I can get low end base as well as some punch base for rock or alternative music. I've been researching and found an RE Audio SRX 12DT For $88.00 and keep seeing the AQ amps come up. I was looking at the AQ-750. I don't want to add any batteries or mess with my electrical system. So my question is would these two be a good set up for what I'm looking for, just one 12 and the amp? If so should the box be ported? How many cubic feet should it be if I just do one 12? If not what specifically would you suggest for amp and sub? If there is anything I'm missing that can help you answer just let me know. I have zero experience with this just looking to put something together for an inexpensive price and be happy with it while I drive between Phx and Tucson. Appreciate your assistance. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=re+audio+12&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1366&bih=552&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=10009260801749325233&sa=X&ei=KAfjTeygHIH20gH0_cCVBw&ved=0CDoQ8wIwAQ
S Dime 420
this and this: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_17145_JL_Audio_10W3v3-4.aspx http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_19264_Kenwood_KAC-8104D.aspx box should be tuned to 35hz, around .6 - 1.2 cubes, something like that. If anybody in the Sacramento area has a vehicle for sale for less than $1,500 get at me. I'm open to almost anything that runs.

Appreciate the response. Can I ask why a 10 and not a 12? Will the 10 give me a better range? Also will a single 10 be sufficient? Thanks again. Edit - Also the reviews of the amp say there is an overheating problem and it shuts off. Are people just turning it up too much?
Skullz
Get the AQ amp and sub, it will be tad over the budget but you'll get reliability for your money spent along with a good resale value when the time comes to upgrade. http://www.audioque.com/AQ750-Amplifier_p_46.html http://www.audioque.com/Street-Duty-SDC25-12-D4-Subwoofer_p_11.html EDIT: You'll be getting a portion of the power from it @2ohms so if you were to add a second subwoofer down the road you'll be able to use the full power of the amp for the pair. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
