Alpine Type-R 12 or RE Audio SRX12

Recommended Posts

I work at a shop, we install Type R's all the time. I really like them. Great price point, capable of getting loud and good sound quality when used properly. Im in the process of installing 5 12's in my Impala :)

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

I love my Type Rs. 2 on a RF 600.1 but they make everything flex and my nose itch. Can't say much about only 1, or even the RE, but I can tell you that they've been more than reliable. I'd go Type R just because it's something I know.

Haven't heard the Re sub but the type R is a nice sub that sounds really good.

Type Rs in this case...they should still be cheaper imo, but meh.

Buddy at work says hes running 2k a piece to his 15 Type Rs. :peepwall:

DISCLAIMER: This is coming from the same guy who has 23s on his stock suspension on his oldsmobile type car(cant remember the name) and wanted to put my old kenwood 2 channel sub amp on his highs.

Lol.. Poor guy.. I wouldn't do THAT (or anything he did wrong for that matter & even though it probably isn't 2k), but they're still some pretty good subs. Unanimously decided, get the Type R.
