SpartanSound
Can I ground my extra deep cycle battery in the trunk to the same ground as my amp (which is a seatbelt bolt for now), or should I run some 1/0 from the negative on my stock battery to the negative on my deep cycle battery in the back? Where should I ground it at?
memphisBred
I personally would ground the amp to the back battery. Then have a ground from the front to the back battery. But that's just me. Many ways to do it including the one you threw out there, but I don't like seatbolt grounds. Where should I ground it at? I would ground the rear batt(s) in the rear on the frame. I've done seatbelt ground before and thought it "works" route it to the frame somewhere to do it right. Also, should be fine to ground the amp at the same FRAME ground point. If frame ground is not an option then run the 1/0 to the front. /Cheers CURRENT SYSTEM: Alternator: Stock alt on mids/highs Isolated DC Power 270 SP - Charging @ 16.8v Batteries: (2) XS D1400s Power Cable: Double Runs of 1/0 KNU Kolossus Fleks Headunit: 80-PRS Sub Amp: DC 5.0k Subwoofers: 2 RE MT 15s /PSI dual .7ohm recones Subwoofer Enclosure: 9.1cubes @ 32hz - brutal. RooTxBeeR
DO not ground to the seatbelt, it is the worst spot you can possibly put it. As they said ground to the back battery, then run a ground from your front to back batteries neg. If not that then ground it to the strut tower.
