Nominal Impedance and amplifiers

I'm new to some audio things and one of those has to do with nominal impedance. I was looking at the "clamped" results for an amp I have, BC2000D by Crescendo Audio, and it says at 1 ohm, the "power in wattage" is around 1.2KW of power. I thought that at 1ohm, this amp does a little over 2KW with the right electrical. What is the difference between nominal impedance and how does that effect the results that I saw about amp that says it does 1.2KW at 1ohm? From what I understand, nominal means the ohm rating at what it is supposed to be, or the ideal amount of "ohms".

Nominal impedance is what Load the amplifier is seeing before impedance rise. Reactive impedance is what you look at when seeing if the amp does rated, it is the load the amplifier is seeing after taking into account rise at a certain frequency.

So yep, the amp does rated. Just don't expect 2000w out of it when wired to a 1ohm nominal load.

Take a look at the calculated impedance, and notice it does the power at 12-13 volts.

So nominal is pretty much how much the amp sees before it starts playing, with the sub hooked in? Example, my sub, wired at 1 ohm, will be read by the amp as 1ohm when the sub is hooked up, on, but not playing loud at all? And calculated is when it has been played for a little bit, meaning the ohm load has increased during the playing time?

Nominal impedance is sorta like an average of where the sub impedance will be. The voice coil/magnet is an A/C motor where the resistance changes depending on multiple factors including frequency, efficiency of the box, voice coil temperature, and other things. That is my rather un-electrical educated explanation of what you are seeing.

Plus as mentioned before, all your tests were done at <14.4v and your amp is probably rated at 14.4v.
