Stop being so stuck on whats hot on SMD all the time. Believe it or not kids....there are other brands out there that work just fine...just because they haven't parked there bandwagon in the SMD lot doesn't mean they aint shit. teknikalitch Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 i actually own a loadboss 170 amp alt that i got from ebay my amps and power are in my sig. my voltage will drop below 12 at idle but i dont go below 12 above 2,000 rpm... got the alt for 170. a buck an amp. not bad in my opinion. ive been running that setup with no batteries in the trunk for almost two years. needless to say im happy with it. I've spent too much lately, if I go and buy some new alts right now the wife may sell everything and use the money for my funeral. Truth is when u have 4 blown amps Ur going to spend even more. ALT linky YOu have 1200 watts? You shouldn't even need a higher output alt. Stock should be fine. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
