Got a ticket for HIDs?

Depend how bright the hid was on car? I don't like to bright because peoples complain about it and sometimes could blind peoples at night..

well i did read this but Hids are illegal in stock housing and alot of the housings for hids, but ive sat behind cops with mine in stock housing and never got a ticket mine are also pointed down as far as they can go,

Im kinda glad theyre ticketing them. Those things are a MAJOR distraction while driving. Ive had some driving at me where i couldnt bare to look forward they were soo bright. Its kind of a ridiculous trend

i have HIDs in all of my cars, you cant tell them apart from a bmw or benz with HIDs in them from the factory. Just have to install them correctly and Dont buy cheap eBay ones that are just blue and dont shine out anywhere lol.

I bet you i could pick your cars out from a bunch of cars with factory hid. ill put money on it. could even do it in a video.

they must be DOT approved HID's in order to be legal

I also got a ticket for my 12k HID's in the Tahoe

you must have white or amber light.. no light on your vehicle should come off as blue, purple, pink etc

most cops won't care about HID's if you aim them correctly but there still is glare which could be misconceived as not aiming them properly therefore resulting in a ticket

just pay the fix it ticket shouldn't be more than $35

DOT approvals are done as a pair, bulb and housing. you can take a d2s bulb that is "dot approved" in a tahoe and its illegal.

SO many people on this forum talk out their ass.

when put into a halogen housing they still cause a GLARE even when aimed down.. proper hids have a real nice cutoff point.

and the cutoff from oem. if it is a hid in a halogen housing the entire thing would be lit up including the brick and windows.

thats a LIE ive installed hids in extremes and aimed them way down. and you still get a huge glare on whatever is in front of you.
