adam6604
so, in like 2 minutes i've decided im going to buy a DD 1508/1510/1512 tomorrow, or the next. basically tehy will be off a Orion HCCA 1200 or something ( i think ) basically does 1200@ 1 ohms, not sure about 2 ohms, and like 450@ 4ohms, i belive. but anyways. i will be running whichever sub in the factory DD box for music, and will be making a SPL burp box for competing. basically i was wondering would there be a significant difference between the cone sizes? i know there the same motors etc, but competing wise would a 12 have a big advantage over a 8 with everything being the same? i would love to get a 8 and make it burp 130+ but i'd hate to not spend the extra 40$ and get a 12 and be louder lol which would YOU get? corey0928
If everything is the same the 12 should be louder than the 8 or 10.
tonedeaf
12 is much bigger than an 8. Its not a difference of just 4" since you are talking about a circle. The average 8" is 50.27" of cone area. A 12" is 113.1". Go with the 12", it should be much louder. As for box, the daily factory dd box means what? I hope you mean you are building it to spec. DRauck
The 12" is almost like having the 8" and the 10" put together. 12" for sure Quote 2011 Honda CR-Z Mugen 12" Kicker SoloX Subwoofer Rockford Fosgate t20001bd Pioneer AVIC-X930BT Head Unit Build Log
Supercharged DCs
The 12 has roughly twice the cone area of the 8, just so you know. I'd personally get the 1508 because it's badass, sexy, and performs well. Quote Bassless once again. Supercharged DCs
Yep, DD Boxes are some of the best prefabs I've ever seen. Quote Bassless once again.
