6berry Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 Currently I have 55 watt rms boston acoustics 5.25" components up front running off the headunit. i plan on getting an amp to power these soon but before i do that i was wondering if it would make a noticeable difference to get a set of speakers that can take more power and getting a more powerful amp? does anyone have any recommendations for some cheap 5.25" components? If it matters my setup will be 4 DC level 3 10's on 2400 watts, 6.5" boston rear fills, 5.25" components up front, and 2 selenium 6w4p 1999 Audi A4 1.8T::: 4 - DC Level 3 10's in a 4th order Rockford P6002 on Subs for now (3-3.5k coming eventually) MB Quart ONX4.60 for Mids and Highs Boston S50 Components in Front Boston S65 Coaxials in Rear 40 Sq Ft of Second Skin Damplifier Build Thread UBL 1948 Plymouth
blownengine Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 Just adding an amp GREATLY increases the loudness. After the amp you can upgrade the speakers if you want. 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT (Yea its got a Hemi)Alpine CDA-105KnuKonceptz 0ga CCA Big 3 with Yellow Top 15" SoundQubed HDC3DC Audio 1.2K (Bass)Pioneer 6x9's (Front)Pioneer 6.5's (Rear)Kicker 3.5's (Dash)Sony amp on the highs. 6berry Posted July 6, 2011 Author Report Posted July 6, 2011 Im looking at a boston GT50 5 channel amp. it would have 55 watts for each of the front and rear speakers and then 250 watts for the seleniums wired in parallel at 4 ohms. 1999 Audi A4 1.8T::: 4 - DC Level 3 10's in a 4th order Rockford P6002 on Subs for now (3-3.5k coming eventually) MB Quart ONX4.60 for Mids and Highs Boston S50 Components in Front Boston S65 Coaxials in Rear 40 Sq Ft of Second Skin Damplifier Build Thread UBL 1948 Plymouth
