Not that I'm by any means a well known poster around here, but it will probably be the longest period in the close to 5 years ive been a member here that I haven't been on to lurk. I am not actually a Marine yet so I can't really take any credit serving our country yet, I definitely plan on it though. hehehehe they are going to love you. OCS is hell. Yea ive been doing a lot of physical preparation for it. I do track so my lower body has always been fairly built but my upper had been lacking. Its going to be tough and its going to mental fuck with you but you are in good shape and dont seem to have a shotgun brain(all over the place) so you'll be fine. once you're done and you can look back on it you'll be glad you did it. you thought college was cool its nothing compared to the fun you can have in the marine corps. OBI Posted July 8, 2011 Report Share Posted July 8, 2011 Get good at writing papers man. When I was in, my old lieutenant told me some pretty crazy stories. Since the won't "IT" you to punish you. They'll make you write some ridiculously long essays in Pen. They would have you write every other word in a certain color, and every capital letter be a certain color, and if there are any mistakes at all, even a small scribble mark, you have to start all over. Thanks n8, and yes, I expect it to be the experience of a lifetime. Im kindof hoping my last two years at an engineering college will help me out with the whole not sleeping and papers studying etc thing. From what ive heard from one of my friends who went last year ill probably get around the same amount of sleep (4-5 hours or so maybe) but it will be more physical activity so we will see how that goes. All in all im quite nervous and excited.
