AMI CUSTOMS Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 If you put a smaller belt on there, or changed pulleys to increase tension to where the tensioner is at max tension at resting, you will burn up bearing. I have done it on my sierra. Edit: Watched your video, that noise from the motor, that is the alts pulling the engine down to like 300 rpm and almost stalling you out, my truck does same thing. If I do a hard clipped burp, and then pause you can hear my rpm recover and the engine make that clucking sound. Give it some gas and it won't do that. You can also try the Racing Belts that are blue (They end in RB instead of HD) But I really really doubt you'll find something smaller that will "fit". If you can shoot me a video like i said above that can give me a better idea of what's going on.
Blue Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 If i remember right, I remember someone saying that there is a hole on the throttle body valve and can drill it out a little bigger than factory and it will help with the engine to keep the rpms up when the engine is idling with the 4 alts pulling down the engine. Not sure if it will work, but remember somewhere someone saying that. Not sure if you want to go that route but just an idea. formerly known as Blue86f150 its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies. Regardless if they were dipped platinum and were stuffed in Beyonce's twat.....way too fucking exspensive this sux camel dicks

Sounds kind of dangerous... but since idle is ECU-controlled on this truck I imagine I could ask Justin at BlackBearPerformance to give me a tune for my AutoCal to adjust idle upwards. I would use that tune file only for demos/shows, otherwise it would murder my gas mileage (even more than it's already been murdered). Right now the tensioner antics/squeal when accelerating is a bigger concern... Goodluck with solving the squeak on hard acceleration or shifts. I've had dual now triples on mine and have been trying to solve that's issues for years. Its all dependant on the tensioner imo. I've changed pulley sizes, belt lengths ,added idlers ,changed tensioner with new one. UnderLoK Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 Go to a race performance type shop and ask there or better yet one that actually does work on newer vehicles (performance wise). If you have trouble finding one, one of the easiest ways to find real shops (when I say real I mean ones where they have cars that race funny/outlaw/etc) is to look for a local Powermaster retailer. I suggest a real race shop because if they can make a car do 220 in the quarter I'm sure they can handle some belt slip If you were around here I would tell you where to go, but Livernois Engineering/Detroit Speed Shop isn't exactly local for you...
