I am for random drug testing being done to any person, hell even family that apply for state programs.

Also banning guns to all because some people commit crimes with unlicensed guns will not stop anything.

Pot, Cocaine, Meth, LSD, Mushrooms, XTC, and every other drug is illegal, however its still finding its way into this country, into peoples pockets and thru their veins. So apparently banning drugs or making them illegal has done nothing, why would it be any different for weapons

i am too but what i was sayin is if you have a job then its none of there business what you do at home just are u high or drunk at work

WE were paying for it before, via taxes. NASA is getting less funding but we are not paying less in taxes. Why would WE pay for it now and also not get any tax breaks?

right i know our tax money is what government spends but i assume we don't get tax breaks bc we are super negative as a nation lol. i think we should drop paying subseddes(idk how to spell it hope u get what im sayin) to big corporations and put it back in nasa

Thats fine, but if you have a job, doing drugs, and still asking for state assistane to afford to live, then they have every right.

Maybe if you wherent getting high every day after work you would have money left over to pay your electric bill, buy food, etc.

Besides whats the big deal if you get randomly drug tested if your collecting benefits from the state? After all most jobs do this, and is worded in the fine print.

What is pathetic is I know 2 sisters, one is 20 the other is 22. They both recently had kids (about 4months apart).

Both chicks recieve foodstamps, and money for housing, and to buy what foodstamps dont buy for their kids, and state issued insurance.

Neither of them are with their baby daddy, nor will they take them to court for child support.

Here is where it gets good! Did I mention neither of them worked??

Both chicks live at home with their biological mother and step father who has 3 more girls with their mother (2 twins around 9yrs old, and a teenager around 14).

The mother cant work due to a back injury, however she has been fighting Social Security for the last 6+ years for SSI.

The Stepdad is the head of a maintenance dept at a large factory, makes great money (over 40$ a hour from what I was told), and always seems to be working 10-12hours 6days a week...

The mother also collects food stamps for her 3 minor kids.

So we have a house hold of what should be 5 people being 7 people not including both daughters kids.

All of them are collecting from the system, driving decently newer vehicles, having the latest cloths.

No one working except for the step dad.

There is no reason for them not to take the baby dads to court for child support.

There is no reason for them not to get jobs, and pay there injured mom to baby sit.

i agree if you get any state funding pee in a cup or even better hair test. but if you work with out aid you should be able in your time to do as you please not at work but at home

Well you mean do as your place of employment pleases. If they want you to be drug free, it's their right.

no its there right for me to be sober at work. its my right to privacy at my home. i know thats not how it is but you do have the right to privacy just no one has got it changed to suit this case

They have every right to require you to follow all laws as a requirement to employment. They are restricted, similar to law enforcement officials, in how they can go about proving you are using drugs but they can say you have to be drug free to work for them none-the-less. They can't say anything about what you do with beer and liquor at home, being they are legal. However, drugs aren't legal so they can use that against you.

i understand that but i see that as a violation of my privacy. like i said if im not high or drunk at work it shouldn't be there business. i never have a problem bc i don't portray myself as one at my places of work i have always passed my pee tests but through my eyes its invasion of privacy

to me if they can tell you u can't do drugs at home then they might as well tell you u can't smoke cigs or can spank your kid or anything. what i do at home is my business as long as it don't affect work its my business

It would be a violation of your privacy if they could just test you at will. They can't. You get hurt at work and want workers comp? Better pass your drug test. They don't have the right to just test you, but if it ever comes up that you have drugs in your system, they can fire you.
