Integra_boomer
I have a 97 civic that is obd2 wiring. well anyways it came stock with a d16y8. I bought a complete b16 swap which of course i dont expect everything to be there. but the guy threw in two obd1 vtec ecus and said they would plug right in. and i knew it couldnt be that easy. sure enough they didnt. so i would either need a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness or just get the obd2 ecu correct? but even after that how would i get the vtec part of it to work? Kevin
I would suggest that you take a look on a Honda forum. Edited July 17, 2011 by Kevin

Yeah you just need the obd1 to obd2 wiring. Then for the vtec part just take it to a mechanic if you dont know what your doing. Then you have someone to blame if something goes wrong lol. I have a 92 prelude with an H23A in it but then i swapped an H22A VTEC into it. Good luck! 727Designs
I personally always ran OBD1 on my swapped Honda's, just a personal preference I guess. As for VTEC if your having problems you can always run it off an RPM activated switch and make it engage whenever you want. 4,400-4,600 is where I usually had mine set in the tune. Reilly
You need to check into your smog laws, you may just want to convert to an OBDII for that. If not, OBD1 is a better way to go.
