what upgrades needed for 2000W

Recommended Posts

I'll lookin to upgrade in the future to 2000W so if I were to have say a crescendo bc2000 running two 1000W subs, what electrical upgrades would be necessary?

Right now I have everything stock, no big 3, 1F cap.

I was thinking 1/0 wire everywhere, big 3, and one extra battery (don't know which one).

Would this be good?

First, ditch that useless cap, then put 1 decent quality batt in back, followed with a BIGIII install (please fuse both ends of pos cable!!) some quality grounds, and that should really be it. Later on, upgrade to a HO alt, nd maybe 2 runs of POS, and NEG to back batt....

I love my staffie :good:

So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny

Do the Big 3, Ditch the cap, get urself a good battery for the back, hell if you want get one for the front too. examples XS, Stinger, Kinetik to name a few. Run a 0/1 ga line from front batt to back batt, 2 if you plan on going bigger in the future.

i would get rid of the cap, upgrade the fornt battery to an AGM and add a second AGM battery in the back. 1/0 big three and 1/0 front to back, maybe a positive and negative from front ot back depending on your budget.

Yeah the cap will be gone. It was a fix in a 92 lumina and figured i'd use it as long as I had it. Got an 03 bravada now.

probably won't go bigger than that. As years go by I have less and less free time so I'm lookin for just what is necessary for this amount of power.

So 1/0 big 3 with one run to battery in back and I can keep the stock bat and alt?

I dont mean to jack thread, but have a similar question

thinking about running 2000w

2x 1000w amp not sure on brand and 8x 12s Street Duty SDC2.0 500w 250rms

its an 84 chevy G30 V8 350 5.7L full size van with absolutely no power anything, stock AcDelco casette radio, no AC "heater coil only", not even interior lights atm.

i was going to do BIG3, get a 140amp Powermaster alternator and an AGM under the hood, and all 1/0 wire

would that be enough power for now? i dont really have the budget for an H/O alt yet, but could prolly get 1 in the next couple months. might be able to afford another battery in back

system setup would be for daily, car cruises, and a bit of idle while working in the garage and

the most i would have the system on for would be maybe 2-3 hours at a time if that long per day

(edit) wont even be wiring it all up for atleast another month, just needed to figure out what i would need MINIMUM for power.

Sold the van in 2014, had it about 75% done, never did get the system in it. Bought a 2000 Chevy S10, still using the same amp/subs. Headunit is XO Vision X538. It's 52x4w, has a dvd player, auto flip out 7" touch screen plus alot more and is a single din.
