Sundown Audio

Recommended Posts

Ok so here's whats up. I've been into audio for a little bit and currently I'm running 2 12" Orion XRTPRO124's off a Elemental Designs NINe.1 Amp running at 1ohm. I was really set on changing over to 2 8" SA-8s, but the refurbs I was interested in are all gone. One of the memebers here, Immutablemoney, said something about running a SA-12 or SA-15. I'm looking to use the money off the sale of my Orions and my box to pay for the sub. Anyone got some suggestion on what would be best? Just looking for opinions.

What's your budget, what vehicle is this going in and how much space do you have to dedicate to the enclosure?

Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks :)

Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

The best for that amp would be either 2 12's or 1 15 but it depends on how much space you have to work with.

To answer some questions, and sorry for not addressing them in the first post.

Budget: I'm looking to use the money from selling my Orions and the box they are in. I don't have a bunch of money to dedicate to this because I am currently working on body mods on the car and am also working on tweeter pods in the A-Pillars of the car. Probably not going to get anymore than $250 out of the Orions and the box together. So that is pretty much the budget. I can pay for the box outta pocket. Just don't want to spend any extra on the equipment.

Space: I would still like to have a trunk. This car is actually a daily driver until winter comes around, so I would like to still be able to use the trunk.

I'd do 2 SA 12s over 1 SA 15 if you want to keep some of the trunk... But then again, 1 SA 15 will be cheaper.

What would be the difference between 2 12's vs. 1 15?

FYI: Box is currently 3.0 cubic ft.

2 12s is more cone area, double the motor force, and leaves room for more power as opposed to the single 15.

2 12's would be more cone area than a 15 and it would use less of your trunk. you probably cant afford 2 sundown 12's for $250 though
