jmilch
put your box dimensions into torres calculator then for example enter 10 for height and 3 for width and then enter different lengths until you reach your desired tuning. jmilch
bend the port? That's pretty simple... DRauck
I just put it into Torres. He's right, the lowest possible tuning according to Torres is 51" long and a 35hz tuning. Then it starts to go back up Edit: I used a 15.5x2.5 port area Edited July 26, 2011 by DRauck Quote 2011 Honda CR-Z Mugen 12" Kicker SoloX Subwoofer Rockford Fosgate t20001bd Pioneer AVIC-X930BT Head Unit Build Log

I cant reach 32 hz that way.... ive been sittin here with torres. then just make the port slightly smaller until you can reach 32 Hz Quote 1999 Audi A4 1.8T::: 4 - DC Level 3 10's in a 4th order Rockford P6002 on Subs for now (3-3.5k coming eventually) MB Quart ONX4.60 for Mids and Highs Boston S50 Components in Front Boston S65 Coaxials in Rear 40 Sq Ft of Second Skin Damplifier Build Thread UBL 1948 Plymouth
Supercharged DCs
With 16sqin per cube, I've noticed you can achieve a low tuning between 20" and 30" long. I would try and work on something for you, but again, no computer. Go into Torres, try and get 16sqin per cube of port area, make sure you have 3 common walls entered into the program, and try 20"+ until you find the tuning you want. Quote Bassless once again. DRauck
OP, do a 15.5x1.75 (should be the height of your box -1.5 of MDF) and make it 26 inches long. Does that work for you? It's 2.26ft^3 net and 32.2hz Edit: Or you can go 15.5x2 and make it 33 inches long. But then your box is 2.05ft^3 Edited July 26, 2011 by DRauck Quote 2011 Honda CR-Z Mugen 12" Kicker SoloX Subwoofer Rockford Fosgate t20001bd Pioneer AVIC-X930BT Head Unit Build Log
jmilch
Sorry the box is .75 red oak ply. I think that matters. I am going to mess with 15.5 x2 I may end up just doing a aeroport if I can't get decent tuning with a slot... jmilch
Ok guys so I used both torres box calc and the calc from precision sound (found here) and I decided to just go with aeroports. But I am trying to figure out how many I need. If I do 2 x 4" ports by a 25" length, I can tune to 32 hz. Does this sound like its in the ballpark? OR If I do a slot port, I came up with 3" x 9" x 29" That gets me 13"^2 per foot, and 31.5 hz tuning. Does that sound about right?
