Angel187
i have an ap1800 that i would like to mod to be able to make 2200 watts rms stable @ .25 ohm wanting a little project so if replacing parts is needed i can do that just wondering what i would take to this amp to make that possible. any help, opinions,or random thoughts would be helpfull. If you are serious about modding an amp, Look into the USA2000X or the USA800 and the mod is just to cut out the SAT "smart amp tech" those will drop down but doing that it just a COMP. amp and with the sat cut out will melt down as a daily driver. -Angel -Angel
MACnonsence6
if i can run my ap1800 down to .5 i think that will meet my needs. what else do you guys think i would need to do so. electrical wise I picked up an MTX Sw1212 powered subwoofer today. This thing sounds amazing. 130 watts, 12" woofer with a passive 12" woofer tuned to 27 hz. Moving the pictures on the walls and my girl got wet from the bass when i showed her haha. Tonight should be good haha.

Overkill it can never hurt.. what do you think of a hc1200 up front with a run or + and - 2/0 from the front to the back with a second hc1200 in the back then 2/0 with a 1/0 reducer to the amp. think i could get away with all that and use the stock 90 amp alt at .5? has anyone else ran an ap1800 at .5 and bench tested it ? Not really going to happen unless you are makeing a burp box with a really high impediance curv. And if you hit the curve just right you MAY get one ohm out of it for a burp, but that amp as a daily driver setup at .25 ohm is not going to make power, but it will cook breakfast The last amp i rember that would take that kind of load was a Lanzar Opti-drive 50c (50w x2) Ultra high current. I loved that amp until it got stolen. -Angel -Angel
n8ball2013
want to know what it takes to run at .5? whats your max current draw 200 amps? ok now double it. so you'll have about 400 amps of current draw for another 500 watts maybe. yeah real worth it. and your 90 amp alt will not cut it. iKidwell
it seems like everytime you make a thread the question gets more dumb. c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old. i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer. 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan Build in Progress
