KMS
I have 4 gauge power and ground. As of now I'm using some sort of distribution block for my power. One input and two out, but I'm only using one out since I only have one amp at the moment. So my question is what type of fuse holder should I use for the positive battery? An AGU inline or an ANL inline, and what amperage fuse should I be using? I will be using an AQ750 for the sub and a Crescendo 1000c4 for the mids and highs. The distribution block that I'm using now, should I toss it out or use that to split the power for both amps or get a different dist block, with or without fuses? To ground my amps I was going to get two 3 feet or so 4 gauge ground wire and ground them to the same ground and just put the other ends into the amps. Is this a good idea or should I do it another way? The dist block I use now is AGU, and keeps melting the fuse. What amperage should I look for if I end up using it again? BJD3
If I understand how most do it, you'd add the fuse ratings on the amplifers and get a wire that supports that current draw. I don't think 4 gauge is going to be enough to supply both those amplifiers. I could be wrong about this one. Quote Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above. BJD3
What do the fuses add up to on the two amps? They are both 30 x 3. So a total of 180 amps. Azagtoth502
Well each of those amps is rated at 90amp. I would use an AGU holder for under the hood since their easy to find & I would use a distro block that's fused, In this case a 90amp fuse for each output on the block. You may have had fused that were too small, since they kept popping. For the wire going from the battery to the block I would use at least 2 gauge. ineeDBass419
he said they were melting the fuses, not blowing them.. op what was it fused at when you were melting fuses? i say you just run 1/0 gauge then split it to 4 gauge to each amp ninja edit while i was typing this lol Edited August 4, 2011 by ineeDBass419 Quote xbox 360 gamertag-greenrocks420 Not insulting you or anything, but did you just call us "bloody winging fairies" ? KMS
I have no idea. I just grabbed whatever autozone had. They say 52v on them though. I'm on a budget for the time being, so let me get this right. ANL inline fuse for the battery rated at 180amps, then at the distribution block, two 90 amp fuses one for each amp. I don't see a 90amp agu fuse, so can I use a 100amp one or what? Links to what I should but would be helpful. 4 gauge for now, 0 gauge in the future, so fuses holders and dist blocks need to be 0 gauge applicable.
