adam6604
so my box is around 8 cubes, without port. and the port itself is like 4-5cubes of space i believe, ill give pics and demensions, but anyway, i was told to make my port smaller or make a new box, so could i cut some mdf same width/length as my port and glue it to the side wall of the port? it would be .75" mdf so should a layer or two make the port small enough to hopefully handle my slight problem with my subs unloading? demensions are 50x22x26 it's a huge box, but i would prefer if my subs hit at the same time below tuning lol Quote Driving my 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 MEGA cab with the 5.7 hemi. 89boxchevy
i had 105 sq.in. o port on my 2 12 sx's n never had a prob with a 1000d to each one. i think it would jus be easier to build a new box IMHO Edited August 7, 2011 by 89boxchevy Quote 89 Chevy Caprice (is under construction) dual alts 4/0 welding cable for wire red top under hood 3 yellow tops behind the front seat ( who needs a back seat anyways lol) big 3 of course Eclipse 3000 interiors are getting rebuilt now 2 crescendo bc2000 2 shocker sig 12s rebuild pics
skittlesRgood
as soon as i looked at the pics, before looking at the torres pic, i said "holy fuck thats a big port" just adding wood to the port walls to shrink the port will work but it will change tuning a lot and the port length will need to change too. Torres
haha same here. i had to double take a look at the volume and port to make sure i was seeing right. shrinking the port will help. but it will also lower tuning significantly. cut the surface area in half and that puts you in the high 20's for tuning. so port length would need to be removed to accommodate
RAM_Designs
Either shrink the port or make a new box...you'll probably like the lower tuning anyways. adam6604
yeah id LOVE to lower the tuning to around 30hz, so how could i figure out my tuning if i put 1 or 2 cuts of MDF along the side to shrink the port .75 - 1.5" ?
