LOL definitely takes a little gettin' used to, but I really wanted to put the T3's in for the MECA finals and that was about the only way to make it happen in the limited time I had available.

Thankfully, I wasn't doing install at the MECA finals... the judges would have had their way with me in sub install! LOL...

The concept is great for SQ though. So I'm working on a new design in the same location that'll make it a bit more friendly to the feet... of course, I'll keep you posted as things come together... I like the criticism as much as the compliments :) Keeps me honest...

Hey Dave,

With all the room you have under the truck, why not look into a Bandpassed design? Just have the ports through the floor.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

Dave it seems the judges in all SQ arenas are looking more at the flashier installs alot more these days (meaning past 8-10yrs) I had a setup in my old blazer that was all stealth only thing you could see was the monitors and head unit and they didnt like it at all (usac). scored real low on the install part even though I had some real work put into fitting IDQ 10's into the factory side panels and refloring it to look all stock. sadly I didnt do well and that was the last year I competed SQ. Not due to that just wanted to try the spl -sql side of things. That was about 5yrs ago.

X2...

Exactly why I suggested the "fancy grills" on them subs..aside from the foot hazard, judges like to ooohh and aaaahhh at ur setup if it's worhty of ooohhing and aaahing over.

I don't know... the judges treated my install pretty fairly I thought. They never rated it super high (for obvious reasons) but they also didn't go overboard butchering it with deductions either. They gave it credit for having all of the I's dotted and T's crossed. I guess having said that though, I'm inclined to add flair in an effort to gain those few extra points. Keep in mind too, I competed rookie last season in IASCA and there weren't hardly any points to be gained by fancy install work. This season is going to be different by sheer virtue of the scoresheet. It's fleshed out in the upper classes to include exactly what you guys have mentioned.

In other words, I've gotta step up in the show aspect to gain every advantage I can on install points. Primarily though, I'm doing it because I want to minimize the "Wtf Yall" aspect in the future. I'm totally up to the task, it just has to be my focus!

Thanks for the great insights as usual B) You guys are great to have discussions with!
