BJD3
The CP series of amps also make rated at 2 ohms. You just don't get their full effectiveness at 2 ohm. Purplehaze
wouldnt the rca voltage be too high? You would need to adjust the amp accordingly. But that should show you if it's the HU or not. And yes, Alpine is 2ohm peak. And yeah most amps will work at 2 ohm, just not there peak Edited August 9, 2011 by Purplehaze Quote Kickin' Cruiser Seller Feedback Stage 3 Dash, Door Panels,4th Order wall 4 - 15'son a DC 5.0K 2 DC 5.0K'sSolo X 15 (v.2) Sub Build

I'll see if I can't find the thread where this was discussed. Others will be able to explain it better than I can. Long story short, you don't get the full effect of constant power when run at 2 ohms. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/88684-what-is-cp/ Edited August 9, 2011 by BJD3 Quote Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above. STEvil
adjust the amp accordingly for the ipod test? readjusting the gain u mean? and what you mean not get the full potential at 2 ohms from the RF CP? Turn the ipod down. You wont have to adjust the gain as long as you dont crank the ipod up to run the amp hard. Quote MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed. VIP3R
still havent tested the headunit thing yet, but it was weird...cause as soon as i gave my headunit more volume.....and brought it back down..the bass at the same volume level where i started was higher... so does that equate to the headunit or something faulty in the amp? but then again...i turned the sub output on and off as well...so who knows =/ Edited August 10, 2011 by VIP3R Quote 2 Sundown Audio SA-10s Box built by Speed of Sound Kicker 1500.1 Infinity Ref 475a Rockford Fosgate T1682c 6x8s Pioneer Premier DEH-510UB XS Power D6500 Stock 130amp Alt Big 3 Build Log

VIP3R
How did you ground your amps? straight to the frame. and at the same spot. grinded down nice. then siliconed over to protect. the more and more im playing with it it seems like the amp but im still not sure. found out my headunit doesnt do jack for preout voltage until almost to the end of the volume knob from testing.
