T2500-1bd vs. T2500-1bdCP

Heard this from a guy the other day. He said that 1 bdCP is equivalent to 2 bd's. Going by the numbers, no it doesn't, but I wasn't going to sit there and argue with him about it cause usually he knows his shit. Just wondering what you guys think about it. I know the CPs are a lot better, but double a bd?

I'd take 6kw of power over 3kw of constant power. Chances are after rise you'll still get a good bit more power out of the two 2500bds versus the 2500bdcp... IMO :)

Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks :)

Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

i think he means because of the 2 ohms power ratings. the cPs are birthsheeted around 3100-3300 rms at 1 and 2 ohms. The regular 2500bd is 1800rms at 2 ohms (rated, probably does like 2000 on birthsheet) and 2500 (~3100) at 1 ohm. So a cP being double, no, but much better, yes.

LOL @ people actually paying attention to birth sheets.

How does a 2,500rms amp equal double a 2,500rms amp? If this guy "usually knows his stuff" I think both parties need to do some more research, because they're both still 2,500 rated watts.

And when swapping out to the BDCP, it may have felt louder because the amp is able to give better output at the same amount of impedance rise.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

A little more power, but definitely not double.
