I like it, but I need to make another stronger box with more, stronger screws and stronger caulk, so I was wondering if anybody has or had a better formula for a SMD. I only have about 4 cubes net. In fact, caulk has no real use in sub boxes and screws provide more of a clamp for when the glue is setting up, no real strength. Can I see your box? I have a feeling its the victim of improper assembly. When I want to make a stronger box, I tend to up the baffle thickness and brace areas that will need it. It's all gone! chrishova Posted August 25, 2011 Author Report Share Posted August 25, 2011 I don't have a pic of it being assembled , I did use 2 sheets for the front baffle, as well as 2 sheets for the back. I am starting to hear squeaking noise where the screws snapped and the broken pieces are rubbing together. I had this before. I use drywall screws, the black ones, and alot of them, predrill my holes. I even ran 2x4's inside for bracing. There's a glimpse of my box on my youtube. Pontiac Grand Prix GT400a Mean Machine alt. And screw are important, since in high power setups they keep the MDF from peeling back that layer right where it's glued at.
