what are some good places to ground?

Recommended Posts

Are you using a 2nd battery? If you have a second or more battery i was saying ground the extra batteries to the engine itself, or frame if you cant do it to the engine. As far as just the amp, frame would probably be the best. Your electrical system grounds thru the engine to the drive train. So the engine itself is your best source for ground. However always do the big three. And one good ground is better than a bunch of bad ones.

no extra battery yet. planning on saving up for whatever xs power battery i can fit.as for the amp ground to the frame i dont think i will have enough wire in the kit to run it. seeing as i only have 3 feet of ground wire

The only way to delete your SMD account is for you crawl to steve meades door step on your knees and pleade for his forgiveness and acceptance to be released...He will either grant your wishes.....or choke you with a large piece of 0 gauge and electrocute you by hooking up a solid gold DC 12k at 0.000001 ohm and 10000 volts to your eye sockets and blow your head apart

You guys act like you have never clogged a toilet and ran around the bathroom frantically hoping it don't overflow.

So get a longer run of ground? not sure Im understanding the dilemma but it isn't expensive...and always ground to the frame; stock grounding locations for unibodies are usually reliable too.

First off, you can see a real difference even in a 300 watt system with the big three upgrade. It goes from helping to necessary the more amplifier power you have. Transients will be clearer and less distorted, and your amplifier will experience less voltage drop.

As far as the grounding, get to the frame if you can, but no matter where you do it, make sure you sand the paint off well, and use a good size nut and bolt with lock washers. I've seen people go so far as to weld it down, I doubt that overkill in this area is wasted.
