I have two atomic apx 12" with dual 1.5ohm coils and I'm in need of some help with box design. I'm after straight spl. They will be receiving 3000rms each so 6000rms altogether, car is a vw golf. Also have just purchase a d3100 battery, What do you recommend using under the hood and running wires to the boot( this is my current setup) Or placing the battery in the boot and having a yellow top battery under the hood and run the audio off the d3100 only. as I only have a standard alternator I dont want to put to much strain on it, its around 110amps I really don't want to upgrade this. Any info would be great help. Thanks

Get some good ofc 1/0awg wire Im not to keen to spending to much more money. The shipping of my d3100 was more than the battery itself. Cost me over $900 for one. I have 3 runs of 1/0awg wiring for hood to boot.

Supercharged DCs Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 I'd really really suggest a H/O alternator to support 6kw... Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

Yes will be for a burp box. I live in nz and we only have one competition once a year, and only have the gear in my car for 2-3months, so you can understand why spending aload of money on battery would be pointless. another 3 batteries would cost me $2,900 I have looked into high output alternators but too pricey for me to convert the price then shipping costs $1000 plus. This was with dc power alternator.

TeamHT Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Theres heaps more than 1 comp a year, lol. LOL @ 4 D3100s. XS is beast, but for the money you could have gotten a high amp alternator. I would upgrade the alternator, starting battery, and then a D3100 in the back. And trust me...70 amps is not going to suffice 6,000rms. Just saying. Upgrade the alternator and do like 4 yellowtops. Also...what amps are you using? Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
