what amps would you suggest? i am on a budget but am not sure of what to get i like hifonics but im a lil upset with there new stuff & have heard good thigs about AQ...what do you like to run? i have 2 sa12-d4s and am gonna up grade to some dclv4/ths igor 18"s soon

Budget amps would be crescendo and aq

Working on my first car audio build ever!

Currently have:

- 1996 Lexus LS400 sedan

- Diablo Hellfire Proto Amplifier

- (2) 12" Fi Bl Subwoofers

- Vented subwoofer enclosure from Perfect Soundz

- Installed by Perfect Soundz

Needs:

- Battery: probably XS Power 12V 2400

- "The Big 3"

crescendo hands down, i don't think they make the 3kwp anymore though, it's the BC3500, but you pay the price for such a big amp in comparison to the hifonics.

depends do you want it to do rated power or a little over half.

I actually started a topic similar to this one on another room, my hfi2500D sucked ass big time, i changed that thing for a bxi2610D and sounded WAYYYYY louder, mike from maxxsonics said that model does about 2000 watts wich suck ass if you ask me, i would stay away from the HFI line!

I have a hfi2000 and love it. I haven't wired it to .5 yet so I don't know how it performs at loads under 1 ohm. I have played on my amp hard. Never has got hot. All I had in electrical was stock Alt and 2 Deka 9a31's. I personally love this amp that's why it will be in my next build. But personally for the money I payed for it when I first bought it you really can't beat it.

Mine took tons of abuse the time i used it, then, i sold it to my best friend and he´s been abusing it for over a year now, i really love hifonics "quality" , they can take tons of abuse, the thing isthat the HFI series isn´t strong and put rated power like the brutus does for example :)

Well of course it doesn't require stiff electrical, it is not pulling much current at all.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

UPDATE......i have the hfi2500.1 on both of my Fi bls @.7 ohm its been like this for @ 3 weeks and it does not get hot or shut down when the gains are set right...i had it re-clamped @14.0 volts and it put out 2012 watts...much better than 1499 but not 2500...so while this thing dont do near rated @1ohm it will do close @.7 i just got my mechman back so im gonna have it clamped again..

for the money it is not bad and very very durable just cant/wont do rated
