Trying to figure out exactly what I will need to power 2 SA3500.1 I want to isolate my alternators for my system from my factory stuff so may have to run 3 alternators or one big one. Is this pretty much what your trying to do? Is this pretty much what your trying to do? excatly what im trying to do, i will leave the stock 160 amp alt in the stock location to run the truck, then will have my 300 amp alt run just my system since the electrical system in the newer GM vehicles are weird. you could prob get away with one big one, like the SMD spec mechman alt, but if you ran say 2 270 amp units with a good batt bank youd have very little drop if any 2014 Chevy Silverado Crewcab 1994 Chevy Full Size blazer Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If not then I would probably just try one of the 300amps and upgrade from there if needed. Real96SS Posted September 28, 2011 Report Share Posted September 28, 2011 Yeah I been emailing Mechman and DC asking about a triple kit so hopefully they reply.I'm just going to do 2 270amp alt's and put a couple batts in the back.Should be more than enough for what I'm doing.As soon as my truck gets here I will have to start a build log on her.I'm going to need my fellow forum members help with somethings because this will be my 5th build but first with this much power and this much money tied up into it.
