Sergeant_Skyrim
Its where your box peaks at although in a car it want peak right there its only in the equation you have to put in alot of stuff such as the car's peak and etc. I cant go to in depth just tune around 35 I have a question in regards to that...what is a car's peak and how do you find it? In regards to OP, tuning the box means basically what Winn said, what the box peaks at. From what I've been told/read so far, you don't want to play anything with bass lower than what your box is tuned to otherwise you risk damaging your equipment. That's why when people tune boxes for competition at around 45 Hz or wherever, most of the time a test tone will be played as to not risk damaging their equipment. EDIT: Epic fail on my part, for some reason on the first few posts on the first page loaded so I thought this thread was still on page 1 lol. But would somebody mind clearing up my question about a car's peak tuning and how to find it? Build in progress

Torres
in a jeep, i'd do subs up and ports back. and do you plan on getting any more amps? if not...i wouldn't get 3 BTL's. one of those subs could easily handle that amp. and what type of music do you listen to? i like to tune to mid 30's, but i listen to rap/hip hop. if you listen to rock, i'd tune a little higher. if you listen to lots of chopped and screwed music, i'd tune a little lower. and you generally peak around 5-10 hz higher than your tuning frequency. and i set my subsonic to about 5 hz below tuning frequency to cut off anything under those frequencies EDIT: here's a thread on finding a cars resonant frequency, as well as other nice information http://audioforum.termpro.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=007014;p=
SoCaLBaMF
well after i sell my kickers im getting some 3 FI BTL N2 15 would facing up and ported do me any good or what do you suggest Guessing by how much you know, I wouldnt or you will be spending a lotttt of money with that amount of power with little knowledge. Not to be offensive but you have muchhh to learn before you get into bigger set ups. Start out with what you got, learn from that, and gradually get into the bigger stuff. Trust me, your wallet will thank you.
